The Washington D.C .think tank Brookings Institute issued an analysis of what crowdfunding “reveals about startups in metro America.”
Using Kickstarter as their entrepreneurial model, their (fairly obvious) conclusions include:
- people use Kickstarter for single and on-going projects;
- on-going ventures create jobs and support new ideas; t
- here is a geographic correlation between Kickstarter projects and venture capital investments that trend towards Silicon Valley; and
- Kickstarter gives people in other metro areas a chance to be #entrepreneurs.
